The downpour that started at about 4pm continued, turning the city roads into the water ponds. The rain also obstructed the traffic, particularly along the under-construction corridor of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). Similarly, roads and the drainages in other parts of the city presented the same picture where the roads became water ponds and traffic remained jammed for hours.
According to details, rain was also reported in Peshawar, Malakand, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Charsadda, Swabi, Mardan, Swat, Buner, Kohistan, Dir, Bajaur, Khyber, Orakzai, and other areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa along with snowfall in mountainous areas. Moreover, rain was also reported in Sialkot, Mian Channu, Attock, Bahawalnagar and Jahanian. According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the current rain spell will continue for the next 24 hours.
The Met Office says rain lashed Peshawar, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Malakand, Parachinar, Saidu Sharif, Risalpur, Kalam and other areas and snowfall was recorded on mountainous areas. More rain is expected in Peshawar, Charsadda, Mardan, Swat, Malakand, Abbottabad, Kohat, Bannu, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Nowshera and other areas of KP.
Snowfall over the hills also reported in Malakand division (Swat, Chitral, Kalam, Malamjabba and Upper Dir), Hazara division, Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), widespread rain-thunderstorm (with few moderate to isolated heavy falls) is expected in Upper Khyber Paktunkhwa (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat & Mardan divisions), Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad divisions), Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir, while at scattered places in Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Makran, Naseerabad, Sibbi,Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Hyderabad ,Karachi, Bannu, D.I khan, Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, D.G khan divisions.
